Montessori Global Education and Chartered College of Teaching

Joint Statement – February 2025

Montessori Global Education and the Chartered College of Teaching are strengthening our shared commitment to supporting educators as they shape the lives of young people through transformative child-centred education. During these challenging times, it is ever more crucial that early educators are recognised and supported to make life-changing positive differences to young people’s lives and futures.

In 2025, our collaborative work will bring new content and closer alignment between our dynamic online learning resources for early educators – the Montessori Network and the Early Childhood Hub. In 2025, both hubs will provide access to new and innovative professional development resources, meaningful insights and the latest relevant research.

Both organisations invite early educators to complement their work by engaging with these online resources. They both regularly welcome content ideas and submissions from any educator keen to share their perspectives on the pedagogy and practice of early childhood education, or experiences on the use of evidence in the classroom.

Montessori Global Education champions equitable access to the empowering opportunities of future-focused sustainable education across the world. We support and empower educators as confident and flexible members of a dynamic and fundamental workforce. As the professional body for teachers, the Chartered College of Teaching empowers a knowledgeable and respected teaching profession through membership and accreditation – bridging the gap between practice and research and equipping teachers with the knowledge and confidence to make the best decisions for their pupils.

Karen Chetwynd, CEO at Montessori Global Education shared this:

Montessori Global Education is dedicated to supporting early educators at all stages of their careers. We’re so pleased to continue our partnership with the Chartered College – supporting the effectiveness of this vital sector with high-quality, accessible professional development opportunities. Our shared commitment and collaborative work will continue to champion and sustain early educators, providing the support they need to enable children to flourish, now and in the future as capable, adaptable members of a skilled workforce.

Dame Alison Peacock, Chief Executive Officer of the Chartered College of Teaching, shared:

“The early years is a vitally important phase that supports the future thriving of children. Yet, despite their critical importance, practitioners often face challenges in accessing essential resources and professional development opportunities. The Chartered College of Teaching is committed to empowering a knowledgeable and respected teaching profession and collaborating with educators across the early years sector to recognise their expertise and dedication to children and young people.

Following our successful collaboration with the Montessori Global Education on the Early Childhood Hub, we are delighted to announce the continuation of our valued partnership. This ongoing partnership focuses on sharing resources and creating opportunities for early years educators to contribute insights and experiences, thereby strengthening the collective expertise of the sector.”
