Chartered College of Teaching comments on ITT market review outcome

The Department for Education has today (01 December) published its consultation outcome to the ITT market review.

Following the publication, Dame Alison Peacock – CEO of the Chartered College of Teaching – commented:

We are pleased that the government has been listening to the profession and taken on board the views of our members. We are encouraged by funding being made available to support providers and the enhanced flexibility which values the existing expertise of the ITE sector and the profession’s ability to adapt to the needs of their setting.

This new timescale is the right course of action and is something we repeatedly called for over the past few months. While we are aware that there are still challenges posed by the reaccreditation process, we will work with colleagues across the sector to support them with these next steps.
