As Partnerships Manager at the Chartered College of Teaching, I see the incredible impact that organisations make across the education sector every day. Whether part of a Teaching School Hub, Higher Education Institution, SCITT, local education partnership, local authority, or another education organisation, these institutions are at the heart of supporting teachers and improving outcomes for children and young people.
That’s why we’ve developed a membership package specifically designed with the needs of education organisations in mind. We recognise the crucial role these organisations play in teacher support, development, and professional learning.
What exactly is a sector organisation package?
Put simply, it’s a tailored membership offering that brings together the best of what the Chartered College has to offer, packaged specifically for education organisations that work directly with teachers and education professionals.
Unlike individual memberships, our sector package acknowledges that education organisations may be supporting many teachers to deliver training, broker partnerships, provide professional learning opportunities and help shape the future of teaching across their regions.
The package recognises this scale and impact by providing resources and benefits that can be shared widely with the teachers and education professionals these organisations work with.
Who is this package for?
This membership is designed for any organisation that plays a role in teacher education, training, or professional development. That includes:
- Teaching School Hubs leading professional development across their regions
- Higher Education Institutions training the next generation of teachers
- SCITTs providing school-centred initial teacher training
- Local education partnerships bringing together schools and communities
- Local authorities supporting teachers across their areas
- Multi-academy trusts with significant teacher development programmes
- Other sector organisations committed to improving teaching and learning
The package is suitable for any organisation passionate about supporting teachers and improving education outcomes.
What’s included in the package?
We developed this package in consultation with sector organisations to ensure it truly meets their needs. The package includes:
Professional Affiliate membership for 5 staff members. Team members get full access to the MyCollege database – a comprehensive collection of research and evidence that helps inform teaching practice. Members also receive the award-winning Impact journal and gain access to events and webinars throughout the year.
Special collection of Impact journal articles. The College has carefully selected key articles from its archives covering topics that matter most to teacher development – cognitive load theory, subject knowledge, oracy, curriculum design, and much more. These come as PDFs that can be used freely in courses, training materials, and resources.
Institutional Member status. Organisations become official Institutional Members of the Chartered College, complete with exclusive badging that recognises their commitment to the teaching profession.
Expert webinar opportunity. The College will arrange a bespoke webinar for the teachers organisations work with, delivered by one of the team members. Organisations can choose from topics like research engagement, teacher development, professional culture, or work with the College to develop something that perfectly fits their needs.
Certificate in Evidence-Informed Practice. Two team members can enrol in the online Certificate in Evidence-Informed Practice course – a comprehensive programme that builds expertise in using research to improve teaching and learning.
What are the benefits?
The practical benefits are clear – access to high-quality research, resources, and expertise that can be shared with the teachers organisations support. But there’s something deeper here too.
By joining as an institutional member, organisations demonstrate their commitment to evidence-informed practice and professional development. They show the teachers they work with that they value research, evidence, and continuous learning.
Institutional Member status badges aren’t just recognition – they’re a statement about values and commitment to the teaching profession.
The resources provided can enhance training programmes, enrich courses, and give access to the latest thinking in education. Whether delivering CPD, supporting initial teacher training, or working on school improvement, the package provides tools and credibility to make an even greater impact.
Real impact from real organisations
James Searle from Chiltern Teaching School Hub says:
“Chiltern Teaching School Hub is proud to engage with the Chartered College of Teaching to further strengthen our commitment to the teaching profession. The benefits of being an Institutional Member have enabled our team to engage with the latest thought leadership work of the Chartered College. Our stakeholders across our region have benefited by having access to Chartered College input on our events and the opportunity to engage with a special issue of Impact articles.”
Rhys Coetmor Jones from Liverpool Hope University shares:
“Liverpool Hope University has worked closely with the Chartered College of Teaching for a number of years – our curriculum has been enriched by the excellent range of Impact journal articles, webinars and research, which have opened up greatly enhanced opportunities for collaboration and professional learning for our staff and students. Being a group member has resulted in enhanced teaching and learning experiences for lecturers and students, which is positively impacting student outcomes.”
Value that makes sense
With a combined value of over £1,000, we’re offering this comprehensive package for £750 annually. More importantly, by subscribing, organisations support the work of the professional body for teachers, and that support is recognised through Institutional Member status.
As a not-for-profit charity independent of government, the Chartered College exists to serve the teaching profession. When organisations join us, they’re not just accessing resources, they’re investing in the future of teaching and helping us continue our work as what the Education Endowment Foundation calls a “trusted broker of evidence” on effective teaching and leadership.
Ready to take the next step?
Every organisation is different, and we understand that. Organisations interested in discussing how this package could work for their specific needs can get in touch for support.
I’d love to have a conversation about how we can support their work. Our team is available at partnerships@chartered.college, and we’ll work together to create something that fits organisations perfectly.
The teaching profession is stronger when we work together. Education organisations play a vital role in that collaboration, and we’re here to support them every step of the way.
