In consultation with the teaching profession, the Chartered College is creating a Chartered Teacher programme for teachers who recognise that life-long learning and development are key parts of being a professional. Underpinned by a set of aspirational, rigorous and evidence-informed professional principles, the Chartered Teacher programme will foster and drive teaching excellence by providing a clear marker of quality as a classroom practitioner that is meaningful and valued. We believe that doing so will lead to greater respect, recognition and status of teaching as a profession, and bring it in line within other professions. In addition to the Chartered Teacher programme, opportunities for high-quality CPD are available to all members, designed and delivered through partnerships with external bodies including Higher Education Institutions, subject associations and learned societies.
