At a time of eroding trust in the profession, it is important we start talking about trust. 
The Chartered College of Teaching is pleased to announce the appointment of seven newly appointed EdTech Evidence Board members who will ratify assessment outcomes for reviews conducted by trained reviewers as part of the EdTech Evidence Board project, funded by the Department for Education. The appointed EdTech Evidence Board members were recruited via an open application process and those who were selected bring vital experience intersecting education, EdTech, evidence evaluation and governance.
Dr Lisa-Maria Müller launches our cross-sector working group to define teacher agency, challenge misconceptions, and show why trusting teachers improves wellbeing, inclusion, retention.

Upcoming Events

The Chartered College of Teaching is delighted to invite you to our Annual Lecture and Celebration, which will take place on Saturday 21st March 2026, 1-5pm at the British Library. We are delighted to host Professor Teresa Cremin, Professor of Education (Literacy) and Co-Director of the Literacy and Social Justice Centre at The Open University, as our keynote speaker for our Annual Lecture this year.

Based on scientific research, this session will examine what we know about teaching quality (what is it, what impact do teachers have, and to what extent does their quality vary?), its development, and, above all, which teacher professionalisation approaches have proven to be effective. This webinar will involve discussing the results of an analysis of more than 30 years of research in this field. Finally, an approach for evidence-informed work on teacher professionalization is presented.

In this webinar, Professor Bill Lucas will be in conversation with Dr Laura Kerslake. They will discuss possibilities for new or alternative forms of assessment that help all learners to thrive. Starting with the big ideas about the next generation of assessment, they will then offer practical suggestions that teachers and leaders can implement in their settings. These will be based on Bill and Laura’s extensive experience in areas such as creative thinking, inquiry learning and oracy, as well as other forms of assessment.

This online roundtable will discuss the impact of commitments to diversity in the new National Curriculum on teachers, what we will need to ‘implement’ diversity commitments and how ready the sector is to meet diversity commitments.
