Twilight Teaching Assistant Forum 2018

On Tuesday, September 25th, The University of Cambridge Primary School Network will be delivering their 2018 Twilight Teaching Assistant Forum, featuring guest speaker: Professor Neil Mercer.
Professor Mercer will focus on recommendation three of the Making best use of Teaching Assistants EEF guidance report, produced by Jonathan Sharples, Rob Webster, and Peter Blatchford. In this session, Professor Mercer will provide strategies to improve the nature and quality of Teaching Assistant to pupil talk and explain the importance of these skills.
This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with other Teaching Assistants and work with a highly regarded expert and we hope that you would like to be part of the conversation.

This is a free entry event for all Teaching Assistants, Learning Coaches, Teachers, SENDcos and Senior Leaders.
About the speaker:
Neil Mercer is Emeritus Professor of Education and the University of Cambridge and director of the Study Centre Oracy@Cambridge at the college Hughes Hall. He is particularly interested in the role of language in the classroom and the development of children’s thinking (educ.cam.ac.uk).
Professor Mercer has been involved in many research projects both nationally and internationally. One of the projects he was involved with, Thinking Together, was incorporated into the National Strategies. Most recently Neil has been involved with the Education Endowment Foundation.
