Mary Myatt – The Curriculum

The Oakmeadow Chartered College of Teaching Network are hosting a mini conference with Mary Myatt.
Mary Myatt is an education adviser, writer and speaker. She works in schools talking to pupils, teachers and leaders about learning, leadership and the curriculum.
Mary maintains that there are no quick fixes and that great outcomes for pupils are not achieved through ticking boxes. She works with senior leaders on the link between educational values and high standards.
Her education blog has been described as ‘informative curtain-parting’
The event will also see a Guest speaker from Marches Academy – Sarah Longville who will be speaking about inspirational leadership and sustainable education.
Karen Wilding: Mind-set and maths: Established in 2009, Karen Wilding Education Ltd is an NCETM (National Centre for Excellence in Teaching Maths) accredited trainer, published author and conference speaker. Bespoke training specialises in supporting teachers in building reflective practice whilst teaching for conceptual as well as procedural understanding and giving children a true appreciation of this essential-to-life subject.
As a former teacher, senior leader and adviser for over twenty years, Karen brings a wealth of experience to support schools at every stage of their journey. Working across the UK and internationally, she delivers quality-assured expertise in the form of whole-school training days, in-school support, courses and conference keynotes and workshops. Karen writes for Dorling Kindersley (Penguin Books) publishers, has contributed to numerous mathematical journals and is currently in talks with the BBC regarding being part of an expert panel in their ‘live lessons’ series.
