Join us at the Chartered College’s Annual General Meeting on Saturday 6th October from 14.30 – 17.00.
Our Chief Executive, Professor Dame Alison Peacock, looks forward to welcoming you to this meeting. You will hear an overview of our activities and summary by our President for 2017, looking back at the highlights and challenges of the year gone by, with an update from the Chartered College’s Treasurer.
The AGM will also feature the election of members to the Council, of whom you can meet and greet. This will be followed by a Q&A, and a keynote address from Dame Julia Cleverdon DCVO CBE.
Dame Julia Cleverdon is a passionate and practical campaigner who has gained an international reputation for connecting the unconnected; inspiring individuals and organisations to work together for the common good. Her objective, through all her work, is to build a more robust civil society by promoting collaboration among senior leaders from business, government, education and communities. Dame Julia also plays senior leadership roles in charities aiming to transform education and opportunities for young people. As Chair of Teach First from 2006 to 2014, and now Vice Patron, Julia has pioneered efforts to address educational disadvantage by transforming exceptional graduates into effective, inspirational teachers in low-income communities across the UK. In addition, Julia is Vice Chair of the Fair Education Alliance – an association of education and business organisations to drive action at local and national level to make education and life chances fair for all young people.
Music on the day will be provided by musicians from the City of London School for Girls, led by Dr Steven Berryman FCCT, Director of Music at the City of London School of Girls, and Visiting Research Fellow at King’s College, London.
The Chartered College will also present an exhibition at the event, highlighting the outstanding work from our networks from across the UK, alongside a visual display of our journey towards creating a professional body for teaching.
Places are available to voting Members and Fellows of the Chartered College only.
