The Chartered College of Teaching has welcomed news that the Institute of Teaching and Ambition School Leadership are to merge.

Commenting on the news, Professor Dame Alison Peacock, CEO of the Chartered College of Teaching, said:

“Expertise in teaching is something that the Chartered College of Teaching wants to see running all the way through the DNA of schools and colleges, from those just entering the classroom to those who choose to take on leadership roles.

It is important that school leaders are in the strongest possible position to become lead learners, building a positive professional climate where colleagues can engage with the big ideas in education. We welcome the merger of the Institute for Teaching and Ambition School Leadership as an important step to further promote evidence-informed practice, which along with the Chartered College of Teaching’s recently launched Leadership Development Advisory Group will benefit the whole profession.”
