CHARTERED COLOLEGE COMMENTS ON ‘ENGLAND’S WORST PRIMARY SCHOOLS…’ ARTICLE

The Chartered College of Teaching has commented on news reports naming 364 primary schools in England that have not met the Government’s floor standard for performance.

Professor Dame Alison Peacock, Chief Executive of the Chartered College of Teaching, said:

“At a time when the teaching profession is under huge strain and our teachers are expected to deliver more than ever, it is imperative that we are all looking at how best we can support them.

While we all recognise there are issues, our teachers are working extremely hard. As Ofsted has also stated, the quality of education in England is good and improving. We need to build our teachers up and celebrate the fantastic education they are providing for our children. Teachers need access to the tools and research so that they can deliver the best possible education and they need the opportunities to develop and continually improve. This is a fantastic profession, let us give it the support it deserves so it can thrive.”
