Chartered College of Teaching comments on A-level results day

The Chartered College of Teaching has congratulated students on their achievement following the publication of A-level results.

Dame Alison Peacock – CEO of the Chartered College – commented:

Students deserve huge congratulations for their hard work in achieving their results today. I also want to offer my thanks to teachers for the support they have provided and their dedication to delivering the best education they can to mitigate the impact of the pandemic. Numerous last-minute hurdles have been placed in the way of students and staff, but they have dealt with them admirably, and all students deserve to be proud of their results.

While today’s cohort can rightfully celebrate, I know some will be disappointed. There will be options available to them, and I know their teachers will continue to support them in these next steps.

The lessons we have learnt should be used to prepare for the future. There is great disparity in how education has been affected across the country, and the toll it has taken is severe. As we look to the future and the term to come, we should start to put in place the support our profession needs to deliver excellent education.
